Strengths:
- I can can write songs fairly easily, this is good because I can write songs and then expand on them later.
-I can play the keyboard and so I can get some ideas from playing and putting them into my own songs. This is useful because I can easily play a tune on a keyboard and then put it into one of my songs if I cannot think of something straight away.
Weaknesses;
-I am not confident and this stops me from being more involved and showing my ideas and songs to others. Confidence is really important and I will try to show some in my compositions.
-I cannot read sheet music or write it, this puts me off playing piano because I find it difficult reading. I could try to learn in my free time or in practical lessons so that I can play songs and take ideas from them.
-I am not good at working in groups or by myself, I am not confident around other people unless I know them and are friends with them. However, I need help when I am on my own, so I could maybe work in smaller groups or just in a pair with someone I know well.
Opportunities:
-I could go to choir, this can help me to learn to make melodies in my head instead of playing on the keyboard to get ideas. And it could teach me how to sing.
-I have free music lessons, I can use them to improve my knowledge of composing songs and I can also grow my confidence in myself and my compositions.
-I can go to Thursday practice sessions, this can give me a chance to work on my compositions more and learn to write lyrics.
Threats:
-I don't have Garageband and I can't download it as I don't have an apple device, this really stops me from writing music at home. I do have an app that I use but it isn't advanced but I can and I do come in at lunch times to practice and work on my compositions at school.
-I need to buy a soundcard so that I can use cubase on my laptop at home, this can be an alternative for Garageband. However, I am poor and my mother doesn't want to buy it for me, I might be able to get it for my birthday.
